After the citizen uproar over the proposed steel flyover along Ballari Road, opposition is brewing against a similar project at Shivananda Circle near Seshadripuram.BBMP has begun soil testing for the bridge, which will be a grade separator to facilitate smooth traffic flow.Shivananda Circle residents and commercial establishment associations will hold a silent protest at Shivananda Circle against the proposed steel flyover on July 23. Residents are upset because the structure extending to a length of 356 metres will see 26 trees being axed.
Residents wonder why the government has chosen to go ahead with the project after many years. Mahesh Prabhu, member of the association said, “Why does the government think only a steel flyover can help remove bottlenecks?
