Popularly known as India’s Silicon Valley, Bengaluru, has been at the helm of the growth of the IT sector in the country. The city is now set to unleash its potential for growth and opportunity with Taiwanese Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies.
Taiwan has the world’s most advanced ICT capabilities which made it a global leader in smart city solutions. India’s talent in software innovation, combined with Taiwan’s expertise in hardware manufacturing, will open up more possibilities in smart technologies and solutions.
Taiwan, known for its electronic toll system on highways and world’s most efficient Metro system, can help Bengaluru in executing effective public transport systems. Their successful public bike sharing innovation, YouBike, can be adapted here to improve last mile connectivity.
Led by TAITRA, the foremost nonprofit trade promotion organisation in Taiwan, will be organising SMART ASIA India, a trade show on smart tech and smart city solutions. The event will take place on October 4-6, 2018 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
Speaking about the association, James Kuo, deputy executive director of Exhibition Department, TAITRA, says, “Taiwan is likely to lead investments of more than $10 billion in India.
Taiwanese companies are seeking ‘Indian partners’ for investments in sectors like information and communications technology (ICT), virtual reality, artificial intelligence and others.”
Taking a cue from the Prime Minister’s initiatives of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’, much is already being done to facilitate business development between both the countries.
